The Big Reveal

On Saturday, September 1, 2019, HWI will open the doors to both the Wrightsville Historic Museum and the "Burning of the Bridge" Diorama and participate in the National Museum day held in conjunction with the Smithsonian Organization  As an added attraction, the newly hung painting of the "Burning of the Bridge" by local artist Edward aLewis Musser will be revealed at Museum. n This 4 ft X 8 ft painting was donated to HWI by the Northwest Savings Bank when they ceased operations in Wrightsville.  Because the painting was a mural on the wall space in the lower level of the bank, very few people have seen it.  The reveal ceremony will happen at 11AM, refreshments will follow.  Attendees will also have the opportunity to view the new museum display titled "Great Grandma's Attic" where many unusual and mystifying items from a Grandmother's attic might be found.
